This was a just-for-fun thing to do. The numbers were made as a text-ring animation with the banner wizard in Animation Shop 3. That was opened in GA 5, which converts the individual optimized frames to objects. A motion blur plug-in was used to blur some of the text.

The scale body was drawn in PhotoImpact, including the lens over the numbers. The transparency of the lens was adjusted to see the numbers.

The rest is tweaking of the frames in GIF Animator 5.
